During an
exhibit held at the Palais des Congrès in 2003, Herstreet participants
were able to access short-term employment (such as putting together
kits for conventioneers) within a short distance of the Olga
House.
That experience was part of a broader reflection about the possibility
of creating opportunities for women experiencing considerable difficulties
to participate in economic life and to re-establish employment as
an achievable goal over the long term. The implementation of a greeting
card micro-business - another project already in progress - is part
of the same reflective process.
