The severe lack of affordable housing in the Montreal area has forced many already vulnerable women to become homeless. This same context also makes social reintegration more difficult.

Herstreet offers a range of complementary services with the goal of promoting access to supervised or independent housing depending on the capacities of each woman. When resources permit, our support includes the following:
– active housing searches (visits, negotiations with landlords, etc.)
– moving (transportation and labour)
– setting up (placement of furnishings, etc.)
– budget management and rent payment
– support with neighbour relations

Women in transition receive follow-up support as long as they need it. They may still participate in the activity program and, during times of crisis, are welcome to seek refuge at the Olga House.

Thanks to its agreement with SHAPEM, a non-profit housing organization, Herstreet enjoys privileged access to housing units located close to the Olga House. We are pursuing efforts to develop similar solutions.
