As part of its annual funding campaign, Herstreet organizes several participatory activities and events, each of which provides an opportunity to become familiar with the organization and its mission, to learn about its often surprising accomplishments and to lend support.

We invite you to visit this section of the site often, as well as the What’s new section, so you won’t miss any events.

To learn more about our activities, please contact Francine Martel by e-mail or give her a call at (514) 284-9665.

Next fall, you could be stepping out for a cultural evening to help a worthy cause!

Mark October 23 in your book because Herstreet is inviting you to attend a benefit performance at the Place des Arts starring les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Celle qui, dit-on, aurait perdu sa chaussure. You guessed it, this new ballet is a modern version of the classic Cinderella.

And that’s not all! The performance will be preceded by a cocktail party during which work graciously donated by the artist Armand Vaillancourt will be auctioned off.

Reserve your tickets now by contacting Francine Martel by e-mail or phone.

Through its creative activities, Herstreet provides participants with the opportunity to enjoy drawing, painting and sculpture. These workshops focus primarily on intimate and expressive contact with the materials. We have added another constructive element in the form of marketing. During special events and at various sales venues, this initiative has provided visibility for these women who rarely have the chance to showcase their abilities or to be recognized for their positive contributions.

A portion of the sales is used to buy artist’s materials, and the rest is given to the creators. For some women, this marks the first time in many years they have been paid for an activity.

Paintings and greeting cards are generally available on request. Special editions may also be available for sale at Christmas and during other holidays.

When it comes to sponsoring activities, Le Salon Horizon is a true innovator!

On May 26 and 27, Le Salon Horizon invited Herstreet participants to have their hair done for free.

Regular customers and the public were invited to make this sponsored event even more profitable by purchasing tickets for a draw on June 7, at a cost of $10 each.

Great prizes were awarded, including:
- A painting by Gérard Dansereau valued at $550;
- A gift pack of hair products worth $200;
- A makeover valued at $150.

We encourage you to visit Le Salon Horizon at 912, rue Marianne Est, Montreal.

On March 21, 22 and 23, 2003, participants in Herstreet’s art therapy workshops presented their work to the public for the third consecutive year. The exhibit, which was held for the first time at the Olga House, featured paintings, sculptures and photographs by 25 women artists.

The 125 guests who attended the opening on March 20 were able to meet Herstreet’s newest spokeswomen, actress Lynda Johnson and singer Karen Young.
