Since 1994,
Montreal Herstreet has been providing immediate assistance to homeless
women and women in difficulty. We also offer ongoing support to help
them achieve lasting changes.
The women who seek our help are experiencing great suffering that
is aggravated by social exclusion. Through an approach that focuses
on respect of the individual, we support these women in their efforts
to break free from their isolation.
To those who are struggling to survive, we offer a chance at inclusion.
Inclusion that heals and restores the right to live - this is achieved
through community integration, the pleasure of a shared meal, the
comfort of a good bed, the security of a roof over one's head, support
and social acceptance.
Residents of the Olga House, which opened
in 2002, can now rebuild their lives in a stable and friendly environment.
During its first six months of operation, 151 women found refuge there.
For those women who no longer feel they belong to a family, to a community
or to society, we are continuing to build a support network.
